ABOUT ME

MY STORY

In 2020, I opened Wavvy Kiwi LLC to start sharing my art publicly

In the beginning I started vending at events and festivals, selling things like handmade candles, incense holders, beaded accessories, paintings, and even upcycled clothes.

After suffering from a fire injury that left my dominant hand in a cast for 3 months, I had to make the decision to give up or try harder. I decided to take a break from the public art scene (more forced than a choice) and focus on the one skill that has always been dearest to my soul. Painting. I started painting with my non-dominant hand, simple drawings, paintings, anything that could fill the paper with colorful chaos.

I truly never understood the power creating can have until I was unable to easily create it. With this, I thought about people who didn’t create, ever. Not necessarily by choice, but by the lack of confidence to do so. But if i can learn to draw with my opposite hand, anyone can learn to create. Its about the want-to, not the outcome of the project. Art is expression not perfection.

Wavvy Workshops hope to help others express themselves in ways they may have only dreamed to, through community, connection, and creative collaborations.
